The Impact of Change

Hal Shepherd responded to the following question:

Should the small business owner or HR manager be concerned about healthcare changing in 2009 or 2010? If so, explain your take on what you think should happen.

Hal felt that the current bills being moved through Congress will not likely have any immediate impact. He also felt that there was only about a 50/50 chance of the bill even passing, minimizing the overall risk. Hal noted that should the bill pass, the changes are complex and would likely not be implemented until 2011 or later. He felt employers should not be concerned with any immediate changes.
